Algebra I develops the student's basic skills with algebraic operations
including variable expressions and multi-step variable equations. The
student will learn to translate practical problems to algebraic language
and then to solve them. The course will also develop the student's graphing
ability using linear equations, quadratic equations and inequalities.
Algebra II is recommended for any student planning to enter college
or technical school. Students will study these different functions:
linear, exponential, logarithmic, quadratic, radical and trigonometric.
Students will also study systems of equations, polynomials, sequences
and series, and right triangle trigonometry. A graphing calculator is
required.
Prerequisites: a C average or better in Algebra I and signature
of current math teacher.
The Calculus student will survey the topics of first semester college
calculus: limits, continuity, differentiation and integrals. Elementary
functions, trigonometric functions and transcendental functions will
be used in applications of each topic. A graphing calculator is required. Prerequisites: a C average or better in Precalculus
and signature of current math teacher.
