PASSPORTS for Summer 2008 are due at school Monday May 12. We then transport them to the Brazilian Consulate for travel visas. Travel, in the younger sort, is part of education. Francis Bacon (1561-1626)
The DeLaSalle Social Studies Department has created two travel opportunities to Brazil during June and July of 2008. Each of these 10-day excursions are offered for academic credit-which means reading, discussing and questioning-so that students are prepared to be engaged and informed travelers.
The goal of this program-our third South American visit-is
to provide students an opportunity to extend their learning and education beyond the classroom
to
Christ the Reedeemer
foster global awareness in a direct fashion
to instill an appreciation for the variety and beauty of the world.
Our goal is to make this available to all DeLaSalle students who are interested through grants, the Islander Foundation-a fund raising program for DLS students- and student initiative.
