Attendance:
Attendance
is extremely important when learning a foreign language. Certain activities missed, such as listening
exercises and presentations, must be made up outside of class through an
arrangement with the instructor (before school in the Florence Center). If absent, it is the student's to get
make-up assignments from instructor or classmate. Students have 2 days to make-up missed work for each day of
class missed (maximum of 1 full week). *** When a
student misses class, he/she may not be able to make-up some oral activities
completed in class and/or participation points given that day.
Homework:
Expect
to have homework assignments every day.
Homework is to be completed before class begins. Students are expected to do their own
work (individually) unless otherwise instructed. Copied work will result in a zero grade.
***
Late assignments are worth half credit.
An assignment more than one day overdue will not be accepted for credit .
Quizzes
and tests:
Quizzes
will be given throughout each chapter.
They will vary in length and style.
Quizzes may or may not be announced ahead of time. Tests will be given upon the completion of
each chapter and cumulative final exams at the end of each trimester. Tests will be announced and review
activities will be offered. For all
testing situations students must keep their eyes on their own paper, no
talking, only required materials on desk, no open notes or books in desk. Violations of any of these will result in a
zero and will be reported to the Dean of Students.
I
am teaching periods 1-5 this year. All
make up quizzes/tests should be completed before school in the Florence Center
unless other arrangements are made.
