| English 11 |  | Welcome to American Literature! Students will continue to build on the skills learned in their underclass years. We will focus on American Literature to continue to form and refine the skills of reading and writing. The course will provide an opportunity for students to realize and appreciate the emotional side of our short history as a nation. From discovering new frontiers and freedoms to facing enormous challenges protecting an individual’s rights, students will gain a more complete understanding of the human side of our nation’s history. Like us, the nation goes through growing pains. Through careful analysis of those moments we truly learn who we are as individuals and as a nation.
